Besides including the two file panels, Altap Salamander also has a complex menu system that features countless options that simplify working with files and folders.

The software features numerous plugins that extend its functionality. More can be downloaded from the producer's website. Besides plugins, Altap Salamander also includes a lot of tools, like a FTP client, a zipping utility, a registry editor and so on.

The Configuration window of the software allows one to change how the program works and also its appearance. In case the program needs reinstalling, Altap Salamander features an option for backing up its entire configuration to a file.
